Construction Technology 1

 

Introduction

Construction technology is an interesting subject to learn. What more when we have an interesting lecture! This subjects in a way has connections to the Measurement subject. To understand measurements we must first understand the construction technology. This includes all the machineries and also concept of the construction elements. 

 

 

Assignment 1

In this assignment, we were supposed to conduct a research on a building that we lived in. It was a group assignment and we chose to do it based on a double storey terrace house. The research was about the way the element of the building was constructed. The elements were the foundation, roof and slabs of the building. It was interesting as we could apply our knowledge from the lectures we’ve learnt to this assignment. This assignment required a lot of researching. That is why at the end of the day, we were well equipped about the knowledge about the elements of a building.

 

 

Assignment 2

This second assignment was a site visit report assignment. It was a rather fun and great experience carrying out this assignment as we went into an actual site for the report. Our lecturer arranged a site visit for us to the Symphony Hills housing estate located in Cyberjaya. It was interesting because we got to see and understand more from what we learned in class. Form this visit I got the chance to understand the construction industry better. With that knowledge I could apply it in my future undertakings. From the whole visit, we were supposed to come up with a report. The report could be found in the attachment below.
