Professional Practice 1

 

Introduction

This subject provides an overview of professional and contractual responsibilities of a quantity surveyor in the consultant group from the design stage to the final account stage. It focuses on the importance of a clear understanding of the organization and administration of quantity surveyor practices and the legal and contractual procedures in relation to building procurement.

 

Assignment 1

For this asignment, we were assigned to prepare a tender evaluation report. We were given a set of details on the tenderers for a project and based on our professional practice skills and knowledge, we would have to produce a tenter evaluation report for a client on which tenderer to select for the project proposed. Based on the sufficient knowledge we obtained form the lecturer, we managed to execute the assignment without having complications.

 

Presentation

 

This presentation is carried out impormtu as the clss is going on. It is to test our presentation and speaking skills infront of a crowd. Speaking up is essential in the construction industry as in the future we will have to present ideas to the clients. This assesment helps in building up a individual's confidence and self-esteem to speak up.
