Cost Value Engineering

 

Introduction

Cost Value Engineering is a subject that educates us about maximizing the value or function of a product without changing the quality of the product. Although it is stereotyped as a cost cutting exercise by everyone, value engineering is more that just reducing the cost.  

 

Assignment  

This assignment is a group project where we formed a group of 9 students in total to conduct a value management study on a project. The project that we chose was an exam center project which is a building by its own in a university. From the value management study we used two tools which are the functional analysis system and the priority matrix system. Before conducting the value management study on our project, we were required to refer to other case studies and apply it to our project. The case studies were helpful in guiding us for this assignment.
