Management Science

 

Introduction

Management Science is a rather interesting subject as it is where we learn to understand management principles and equip ourselves with a knowledge of its application in construction projects. It is also a subject where we learn to develop awareness and understanding of the different types of management tools in the construction 

industry and to enhance employment prospectus. Though this subject my mind has been opened to a wider prospect in decision making as I had the chance to learn the methods of managing and excecuting information. Management is a very important aspect for a Quatity Survayer as we are also known to be a construction manager in most consruction projects. Hence, management should be prioritised as our best aspect in our profession.

 

Assignment 1

The group assignment that was given was to come up with a proposal to start up a constuction company. We have decided to group in members of 3 for this particular assignment. The workload was heavy but with great management skills, we managed to complete it on time. We were assigned to also come up with a recruitment programme for 3 management trainees. The programme suggested must have legitemate reasons behind them as it is treated as a test to define a great management trainee. This assigment also requires us to present our business proposal to the class. The explanation of our recruitment programme was fourtunately understood by everyone. The assignment helped me a lot to understand what it takes to startup a company and conduct recruitment programmes. much reasearch was done to complete this assignment and the out come of it was not a dissapointment at all as I manage to gain extra knowledge conducting the assignment.
