Construction Technology 3

 

Introduction

Construction technology is a linked subject to the Measurement as we need to know how the construction works before knowing how to calculate and measure correctly. Hence for this semster we also have this subject for the third time. This time round we learned on constuctions like curtain wall, IBS systems, retaining walls, and space frames. From the ample knowledge of our experienced lecturer, this subject would be really useful in the future when we go out to work in the construction field. 

 

Assignment 1

This was an individual assignment and we were assigned to prepare a booklet with 20 sketches based on some of the topics in the syllabus. It was interesting because by drawing it helps me understand the subject more. 

 

Assignment 2

For this assignment we were grouped into a team of 5 students. We were assignesd to choose a topic that we had covered during the lecture and tutorial class and explain everything about the topic. The topic that my group did was based on Retaining Walls. We covered quite a sum of information based on Retaining Wall like the types of wall, the advantages and disadvantages, and the comparison between concrete retaining wall and gabion wall. This assignment helped me improve my knowledge about the topic that I was doing because I did deeper research on it.
