Software Application

 

Introduction

Software application for quantity surveying mainly provides us students the basic knowledge on preparation of quantities taking off, preparation of rate build up and preparation of bill of quantities by using QS computer software. This subject benefits us students a lot because in our evergrowing world today, most companies are moving on from manual measurment to computer software measurement. Thus with the basic knowledge of using these softwares, we would be prepared to use the available softwares in the market.

 

Assignment 1

This assignment is to expose us students to different types of software programs available in the construction market and their limitations in usage. We are required to prepare a report on the functions and limitation of QS computer software in the market. The research for this assignemnt is very useful as we were not aware of these types of softwares in the market. after knowing the advantages and disadvantages 

 

Assignment 2

For this assignment, we have to prepare a set of bill of quantities by using Buildsoft. Based on the knowledge we obtained from the subject, we have to apply it in this assignment. This assignment also requires us to apply the knowledge of Measurement and Estimating.
